Becoming a Freemason

– The essential qualification for admission into Freemasonry is a belief in a Supreme Being. Membership is open to men of any race or religion who can fulfil this essential qualification, are aged over 21 years (this may be lowered to 18 years of age in certain circumstances) and are of good repute.

  • – If you wish to find out more about becoming a Freemason then there are different options open to you. If you know someone who is a Freemason, perhaps a family member, friend or colleague then it is quite in order for you to talk to them about your interest.  They will be able to explain some of the workings of Freemasonry to you and be able to give you more information.

– You can also read the helpful booklet on the United Grand Lodge of England web site (follow this link) in respect to the matter.

– Should you wish to pursue your interest in becoming a Freemason and are interested in joining the Prince of Wales Lodge then please use the form below to contact our Lodge Mentor/Membership secretary. You can also write to us at the postal address given on the contact details page. This will enable us to informally discuss matters with you, and if you wish to proceed then you may then in due course be invited to meet a small committee of members from the Lodge, prior to being balloted for membership of the Lodge.
